Adversity – Is hard for me;

I’ve never liked things challenging;

I want to glide smooth through the day;

With ne’er a worry in my way;

Yet, that is just not how life works;

No one can adversity shirk;

And, there’s a reason for the pain;

For pain, so often leads to gain;

Think back to when your life was smooth;

I’ll bet, back then, you never grew;

No challenges to improve you;

Or stretch yourself, by coping through;

Now think back when your life was tough;

Some difficulties roughed you up;

Yes, it was hard, but afterwards;

You’d grown from trials you endured;

I know these things, but even so;

I’d like a life with easy flow;

Wish adversity’d stay away;

And just let me enjoy my day.
