The Rusty Farmer’s Tractor

The rusty farmer’s tractor – A once sought after prize;

Now worn down and abandoned – Out in the field it lies;

Just consider that 🤔 at one time – Back during the Old West;

Some farmer worked really hard – So this tractor, he’d get;

And after he obtained it – He probably felt so proud;

Driving that shiny tractor – friends and neighbors to Wow!

And maybe each new morning – his tractor, he did wipe;

Down with a cloth and oil – To remove dirt and grime;

But surely as the time passed – the novelty died off;

Now no longer impressive – a new tractor was sought;

The once beloved tractor – discarded in the field;

Isn’t that just how it goes – with things material?

I’m not saying things are bad – or should not be enjoyed;

Just pointing out that with time – the thrill of things goes void;

Guess that’s why in the scriptures – wise men admonish us;

To seek heavenly treasures – that can’t wear down with rust.
