Farmers growing food – Cattle, horses too;

What things happened here – In a distant year;

Hardy folks just tried – Their best to survive;

In a rugged land – Filled with dust and sand;

I admire them – For perseverin’;

Taming wilderness – Each day, doing their best;

Would the worst have been – The isolation;

No 7-11 close by – To stock up supplies;

During times of snow – They were on their own;

Days spent in their homes – Roughing out the storm;

That tough West spirit – Can cause an uplift;

Think what they passed through – Building places new;
