My teeth have been hurting of late – My molars are not doing great;

Yet, I persist with dentist fear – I haven’t gone in many years;

It’s just that, when I go to see – The dentist, it brings pain to me;

When, that sharp syringe needles me – In my mouth, where I cannot see;

Dentists seem like pain experts – Causing my mouth to really hurt;

Just thinking of it, make me wince – Those needles cause a painful pinch;

One time, the anesthesia failed – And I cried as I roughly felt;

All the pain from that dentist’s drill.

Also, when they floss down my gums – It makes them sore and kind of numb;

I know the pain has just begun.

With fluoride, I must swish my mouth – A taste that I could do without;

My general feeling goes quite south.

So, for now, I’ll just bear the pain – My dental phobia remains.
