The Prairie Dog

The Prarie Dog – Likes to hog the grass;

Enjoying a grass-burger – Taste that lasts;

These dogs don’t look – Real dogs at all;

Because they are – So very small;

They burrow up – Within the hills

Digging for them – Is quite a thrill;

Their homes are found – Most anywhere;

Where there is grass – And open air;

They live their life – Without a care;

Except when predators – Come near;

Living in scenary – Without end;

Home on the range – Applies to them;

Perhaps, though – They should change their name;

Giant Mouse more aptly – Fits their frame.
