The Glacier Lilies – Are looking so pretty;
Their bright yellow colors – Above the ground, hover;
Leftovers from Fall – No life left at all;
Isn’t that just how – The lifecycles spin;
One generation ends – And the next one begins;
The new generation – Grows from the old’s dirt;
Building on the last – Generation’s work;
Like how these lilies – Live in leaf-made earth;
Perhaps that is why – In scriptures so true;
We’re told: respect elders – Who came before you;
Without them our world – Would not be the same;
All of their hard labors – Much benefit made;
Yet how seldom do we – Appreciate;
Often neglecting – Until it’s too late;
