Brewer’s Blackbird – Stands out from the flock;

Colored in black – Bottom to top;

A bad omen? – Superstition;

Could bad vibes be – Coming my way;

After seeing – This bird today?;

Why does black bring – Feelings of fright;

Black is darkness – Shadow of night;

Put with bad things – Shudders it brings;

Can I change my – Feeling of black;

Am I short-sighted – Empathy lack;

This bird did not – Choose to be black;

Only nature’s – Selection did that;

Nor did the night – Choose it’s dark shades;

Naturally made – As Earth rotates;

Perhaps I should – Adjust my view;

Thinking of things – With thoughts anew;

An open mind – Can learn new things;

While a closed mind – Can cause a sting;

Losing knowledge – Otherwise had;

And making possible – Friendships go bad;

So, blackbird, I’ll – Try to be nice;

Not thinking black’s – Only a vice;

Perhaps you have – A character gold;

Seeing you should not – Cause me to bolt.
