The Beaver swims through the river – Warm fur helps him not shiver;
Looking for wood for his home – All-round the water he roams;
Strong teeth help him cut through trees – He constructs things, naturally;
A thick tail helps him as he swims – And he can dive, at a whim;
I wonder if he sometimes sees – A dentist to clean those big teeth;
Or perhaps he needs to floss – To remove dirt, bark or rocks;
And so skilled is he that he can – Construct a large, functional dam;
Nature’s natural engineer – Serving the earth’s biosphere.
