The Common Snipe

The Common Snipe – Is quite a sight;

Beak piercing the ground – Much water around;

What could this bird look for – Out there in that marsh;

His beak seems quite piercing – As sharp as a dart;

Perhaps little fishes – May try to escape;

As that sharp beak searches them – Through the mud breaks;

If found, they’ll be swallowed – Just like a sardine;

Maybe fish can escape – By swiftly swimming!
