The hunched-back Heron – Neck pain is flarin’;
How did his neck – End up a mess?;
Perhaps he crashed – Into the back;
Of a bird flock – That did not stop;
He really needs – To go and see;
A chiropract – But not a quack;
Alas!
Poor bird – To look like that;
Suffer for years – With a bad back;
Pain sadly is – A part of life;
A fact known by – All wildlife;
Accepting pain – Will lessen strife;
Abiding maybe – A rough fate;
Enduring – Without an escape;
We humans try – To run away;
Chemicals keep – The pain at bay;
In the short-term – We have relief;
But, in the end – We have more grief;
Much better – This lesson to learn;
There really is – Nowhere to run;
Accepting things – Like this tough bird;
Can help us to – Hard things, endure.
