The timid, needled porcupine – Is always an exciting find;
Though they oft climb up in a tree – Because they want to avoid me;
Why should this creature climb away – With needles to keep me at bay;
Would I get close and stabbed, No Way! – I’d be a sliced human filet;
Sometimes I see a dog got close – Porcupine needles pierce their nose;
Being a porcupines close pal – Would not be possible at all;
Because you’d have to keep distant – Or those needles would stick your skin;
Poor porcupine! Safe from attacks – But destined, close friendships to lack.
